DV4 worked closely with TV3 to understand their goals, challenges and working processes to turn their website into an online arm of their business. Winner of the Grand Prix Award at the 2008 Golden Spiders.
The site provides up to the minute rich media content and breaking news, weather, sports, TV listings, entertainment and programme specific content (Xpose, The Apprentice, IrelandAM etc. and ANY future TV3 programme.). The TV3 editorial team can activate any web module in any page of the TV3 website (blog, image gallery, video player, competitions, news articles, special features, image banner, newsletter signup, editors pick, polls, comments etc.) The site consists of content that supports their broadcasted material as well as web only exclusive content with the additional goal of cross-marketing between the TV channel and website and vice versa. The site also facilitates user generated content (photo and video upload, comments [sent to TV3 editorial team for approval], polls etc.) and integrates RSS and social bookmarking tools.
Importantly, there was a focus on integrating in-depth metadata with all content to facilitate fast and accurate searching. Also, as we are experts in the field of video encoding, streaming and internet solutions, we assisted TV3 in setting up their own web streaming infrastructure, as well as building their video players.
All of the above was delivered on time and on budget.
The TV3 website has won the 2008 Golden Spider Award in the Best Digital Media Website category.
It also scooped the "Grand Prix Award" on the evening.
